“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
That’s what Emily Dickinson had to say about hope. But hope is harder to find these days. It’s been plucked and pinioned and turned loose in a world that it did not create and can barely recognize. Oh sure, it’s still around. I mean, this is hope we’re talking about.
Well, the good news is that hope isn’t dead yet. For such a seemingly fragile, ethereal thing, hope is surprisingly resourceful and resilient.
You’ve heard the saying, “Wherever there’s life, there’s hope”…? TRUE. But at this stage of the game, hope could really stand a little attention, know what I mean?
Maybe some hot soup, clean sheets,
and a place to stay.
